Who exactly is this "Sloppy Joe"? Forget everything you know about ordinary burgers, because we're giving you a whole new perspective! Our take on this classic is an irresistible taste sensation, all thanks to our Dashi Umami fish broth. Why settle for ordinary when you can have something crazy?

Ingredients for 2 people

  • 2-4 burger buns
  • Dashi Umami fish stock OR Dashi Umami vegetable stock (for deglazing)
  • 300g minced meat (half beef, half pork) OR vegan soy mince
  • olive oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Fish Sauce Royal OR No Fish Sauce
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • Asian mayonnaise (e.g., Kewpie)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Kimchi (to taste)

ZUBEREITUNG

  • Halve the buns and toast them in a pan until they are slightly crispy, then set them aside.
  • Then fry the minced meat in a pan with a little olive oil until it is brown and cooked through.
  • VEGAN ALTERNATIVE: Soak your soy mince in Dashi Umami vegetable broth, then squeeze out the excess liquid and fry.
  • Peel the onions, slice them thinly and add them to the browned minced meat.
  • Add brown sugar and let it caramelize briefly. Add fish sauce to the meat and onion mixture and stir briefly.
  • Deglaze with dashi broth and let it reduce briefly. Add the diced tomatoes and simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
  • Spread a layer of mayonnaise on the underside of the prepared buns and place 1-2 lettuce leaves on top.
  • Spoon a generous amount of the prepared sloppy sauce onto the salad. Top with a little kimchi and place the bun lid on top.
  • Tada!! Sloppy Joe ala J. Kinski is ready!
